We had a long-running maintenance charge issue with our management corporation that nobody seemed able to resolve. quoruopa went through every document, explained the relevant sections of the Act, and gave us a memo that clearly laid out our options. It was the first time in two years that we felt we actually understood where we stood.

I needed to exit a distribution agreement that was no longer working for my business. The team reviewed the contract, identified the best termination route, and prepared the notice for me. The only reason I am not giving five stars is that scheduling the initial meeting took a little longer than I hoped, but the quality of the work made up for it.

I was in a difficult position at work and considering making a report about what I had seen. I was nervous about the whole thing. The advisor I spoke with was patient, non-judgemental, and explained everything in a way that put me at ease. I left knowing my options and feeling much more confident about my next steps.

Our JMB committee was struggling with a by-law enforcement matter and had received conflicting advice. quoruopa cut through the confusion and gave us a written opinion that was clear and well-referenced. We are now using their memo as the basis for our next AGM resolution.

Used the contract termination service to exit a joint venture that had become unworkable. The strategy memo was thorough and the notice was professionally drafted. I appreciated that they flagged a potential liability issue I had not considered. Would have liked a slightly faster turnaround, but the attention to detail was worth the wait.

As a unit owner dealing with what I thought was an overcharge on sinking fund contributions, I needed someone who actually understood the legislation. The advisor walked me through the relevant provisions, checked the management corporation's accounts, and told me straight whether I had a case or not. Refreshingly honest.

Strata Dispute Resolution

Challenge

A management corporation in Bangsar had been locked in a dispute with a developer over unreleased maintenance funds for over eighteen months. Multiple attempts at informal resolution had failed, and the committee was unsure of its legal standing.

Approach

We reviewed the strata title documentation, the management agreement, and the relevant provisions of the Strata Management Act. We prepared a detailed position memo outlining the MC's entitlements and the procedural steps available to compel release of the funds.

Outcome

Armed with the memo, the MC committee was able to formally demand the release. The funds were transferred within six weeks. The committee chair described it as the turning point in a dispute that had seemed impossible to resolve.

Clean Contract Exit

Challenge

A small F&B business had entered into a three-year supply agreement that had become commercially unviable. The owner feared that terminating early would result in a penalty claim from the supplier. The contract language was ambiguous in places.

Approach

We conducted a clause-by-clause review of the supply agreement, focusing on the termination provisions, force majeure language, and penalty clauses. We identified a termination-for-convenience clause that the client had overlooked and prepared a compliant notice.

Outcome

The business exited the agreement within the notice period stipulated by the contract. No penalty was incurred. The owner later said the advisory fee was the best business expense he had made that quarter.

Whistleblower Guidance

Challenge

An employee at a mid-sized company had witnessed financial irregularities and wanted to understand the legal implications of reporting. The individual was concerned about retaliation and whether the law would actually protect them.

Approach

We provided a confidential session explaining the scope of the Whistleblower Protection Act, the types of misconduct covered, and the specific protections available. We walked through the disclosure process step by step, including which enforcement body to approach.

Outcome

The client made an informed decision to proceed with the disclosure. They later told us that having a written briefing document gave them the confidence to move forward, knowing they understood both the protections and the process.
